Renting a room shouldn’t be hard.

LOFTZ started with a frustration anyone who has moved to Lisbon will recognise: finding a decent room is slow, half the listings don’t match the photos, and somewhere in the middle a platform takes its cut. We wanted the opposite. A room you can judge honestly before you book, a price with nothing hidden underneath it, and a contract that actually protects you.

Today we run 65 rooms across nine residences in Lisbon, in neighbourhoods like Arroios, Santos, Saldanha, Benfica and Olaias. Every room is furnished and ready from day one: a made bed, a working kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, cleaning of the shared areas, and bills folded into one monthly payment. You arrive with a suitcase and you are home.

We book directly, so there is no marketplace between you and us and no service fee added on top. What you pay is rent, a refundable deposit, and a one-off admin fee for the lease we draw up and register, the way renting is meant to work. If something breaks, you reach our team, not a call centre in another country.

Most of the people who live with us are students and young professionals, and many are new to the city and to Portugal. We can’t do much about Lisbon’s hills or the paperwork that comes with moving countries. Where you live is the part we can make simple, so you can focus on why you came.
